BACL Newsletter 2019 February 6th SCC Accreditation

As from 21 January 2019, BACL’s Sunnyvale, California facility is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada [SCC] as an ISO/IEC 17065:2012 Conformity Assessment Body [CAB] (under SCC File Number 10077) for products requiring Electrical Safety and/or Energy Star certifications in Canada. BACL Sunnyvale now offers accredited Electrical Safety Certifications for Canada (along with an associated BACL Certification Mark) in accordance with the following Standards:

  • CAN/CSA C22.2 NO. 60950-1-07 (R2016) Standard for information technology equipment (ITE)
  • CAN/CSA C22.2 NO. 62368-1-14 (2014) Standard for audio/video, information and communication technology equipment-Part 1: Safety requirements
  • CAN/CSA C22.2 NO. 1993-17 (2017) Standard for self-ballasted lamps and lamp adapters
  • CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 250.4-14 (2014) Standard for Portable luminaires
  • CAN/CSA C22.2 No.223-15 (R2017) Standard for Class 2 Power Units/Power supplies with extra-low-voltage Class 2 outputs
  • CAN/CSA C22.2 NO. 250.0-08 (R2013) Standard for Luminaires
  • CAN/CSA C22.2 NO. 250.13-17 (2017) Standard for Light Emitting Diode (LED) Equipment for Use in Lighting Products
  • CAN/CSA C22.2 NO. 250.1-16 (2016) Standard for Light-Emitting Diode (LED) Retrofit Luminaire Conversion Kits

Additionally, BACL Sunnyvale now offers accredited Energy Star Certifications for Canada in accordance with the following Standards:

  • Energy Star Program Specifications for Luminaires version 2.1
  • Energy Star Program Specifications for Decorative lighting Strings version 1.5
  • Energy Star Program Specifications for Lamps version 2.1

SCC Scopes of Accreditation are referenced using International Classification for Standards (ICS) codes.
