Recent 2026 Covered List Changes

  • Robotics and Inverters (July 2026): New foreign-made advanced robots and power inverters cannot receive FCC sale or import approval unless they secure a conditional waiver. Existing models and federal uses are unaffected.
  • Import Restrictions (June 2026): The agency barred the importation and marketing of previously authorized equipment that was added to the Covered List in 2024 or earlier.
  • Toy Drones Exemption (June 2026): The FCC officially removed standard “toy drones” and toy-grade foreign components from the restrictive supply chain rules.
  • Telecommunication Bans (May 2026): Commissioners proposed stripping blacklisted entities on the list of their blanket domestic Section 214 telecommunication authorizations.
  • Routers and Commercial Drones (Early 2026): Restrictions were extended earlier in the year to foreign-produced routers and commercial unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).
