On February 24, 2026, the ENACOM (Argentina’s National Communications Entity) officially released Resolution 57/2026, introducing significant updates to the country’s telecom certification framework. The new rules will come into effect on September 1, 2026.
Key Highlights
- Indefinite Certificate Validity
Newly issued certificates will no longer expire, replacing the current 3-year renewal requirement. - Ongoing Surveillance for Consumer Devices
Class A (consumer) products will require compliance audits every 24 months, while Class B (professional) devices are exempt. - Introduction of Product Family Certification
Multiple similar models can now be approved under a single “Product Family” certificate, helping reduce testing costs and certification timelines. - Extension of Existing Certificates
All currently valid ENACOM certificates will be automatically extended until February 26, 2029. - New E-commerce Compliance Requirement
Online listings must display the RAMATEL ID, enhancing transparency and preventing the sale of uncertified products.
