ANATEL in Brazil published Act No. 7280 which will be enforced at the end of the first semester of 2021. According to this act, certificates issued for cellular devices and for a few other product types (such as power supplies and batteries meant to be used with cell phones) will no longer expire every year. The new expiration period is 2-years.
For RF devices in general (such as WLAN, Bluetooth etc), the certificates will continue to be valid for a period of 2-years. With this new act, which will revoke act 2222, the submission of an ISO 9001:2015 certificate, regardless of the number of factories, will also be mandatory for RF devices in general.
In addition, ANATEL increased the list of devices where it would be permitted to run certification tests outside of Brazil.
